First EU-Ukraine summit since Ukraine was granted the status of candidate country takes place in Kyiv

European Union leaders came to Ukraine to take part in the EU-Ukraine summit. It is the 24th summit between the European Union and Ukraine, the first one since the start of the Russian aggression and also since the European Council granted Ukraine the status of candidate country.

President of the European Council Charles Michel, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, as well as 15 European commissioners, traveled to the Ukrainian capital to discuss Ukraine’s European path and the accession process, and also the EU’s response to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
