First ship chartered by UN with Ukrainian agricultural products arrived in Africa

On August 30, 2022, the bulk carrier, chartered by the United Nations World Food Programme, arrived in Djibouti — the corresponding statement was made by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

It has 23,000 metric tons of wheat on board to be delivered to consumers in Ethiopia.

“We understood the global food responsibility of Ukraine to the world, especially to the countries in Africa and Asia facing a humanitarian disaster. That is why we have already sent two ships with more than 50 thousand metric tons of agricultural products to help the people of Ethiopia and Yemen,” stated the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure.
