First time in 10 years: Ukraine wins gold at European Wrestling Championships

Ukrainian athlete Vasyl Mykhailov won a gold medal at the European Wrestling Championships 2023. It’s the first gold medal for Ukraine in these competitions in 10 years.

Mykhailov became the champion in the 79 kg weight class, defeating the 2022 European champion Georgios Kougioumtsidis from Greece. For Mykhailov, it is the first gold medal in his career.
