First time in history: Ukrainian athlete wins gold at Luge World Junior Championship

Ukrainian luger Yulianna Tunytska won gold at the 2023 Luge World Junior Championships in Bludenz, Austria.

The 19-year-old became the best in the individual competition. Following the results of the two races, Yulianna showed a time of 1:04.723 minutes.

It is the first time in her career that Tunytska has won a medal of such a high level. She became the first Ukrainian woman to win a gold medal at the Luge World Junior Championships.

In addition, Tunytska won another medal at the World Junior Championships as part of the Ukrainian team. Together with Danylo Martsynovskyi, Vadym Mykievych and Bohdan Babura, she became a silver medalist in the team event.
