First time in history: Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been completely disconnected from the grid

Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was completely disconnected from the grid for the first time ever, informed Energoatom on August 25, 2022.

“Due to fires at the ash dumps of the Zaporizhzhia thermal power plant, the fourth communication line of the Zaporizhzhia NPP with Ukraine’s power system was twice disconnected… Thus, the actions of the invaders led to complete disconnection of ZNPP from the power grid,” noted Energoatom.

Energoatom also recalled that three other communication lines had previously been damaged during shelling by the Russian army.
