For the first time, Paris awarded the status of “honorary citizen” to another city — Kyiv

The Paris City Hall unanimously voted to grant Kyiv the capital of Ukraine “honorary citizenship”, giving the city such status for the first time. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo announced this on March 22, 2022.

“With this award, which is being awarded to the city for the first time, Paris expresses its friendship and support for the Ukrainian capital, which is fighting for its freedom,” she wrote.
