Foreign ambassadors in Ukraine react to Nov. 23 shelling and express solidarity with Ukraine

Western diplomats in Kyiv have reacted to the on-going Nov. 23 Russian shelling of Ukraine.

Currently in Kyiv and at work, several ambassadors of foreign countries have issued their responses to the Russian attack, informing their audiences of the reality on the ground.

Among them is British Ambassador Melinda Simons, who tweeted that she continues to work underground in the basement. US Ambassador Bridget Brink reacted to the attacks by noting the strength of the Ukrainian people and affirming that Russia will fail in its attempts of “subjugating Ukraine by plunging it into cold and darkness”. French Ambassador Etienne de Ponsin shared that his work meeting with the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economy Oleksandr Hryban was interrupted by Russian missile strikes and had to continue from a shelter, and expressed his solidarity with Ukraine.
