Former member of the Swedish Parliament Caroline Nordengrip joined the Ukrainian army

Former member of the Swedish Parliament Caroline Nordengrip joined the ranks of the regular Ukrainian army. She is the first foreign woman to do so.
Nordengrip used to be a politician and member of the Parliament for the last four years, but with the beginning of the full-scale war, she decided to go to Ukraine.
“For me, it all started in the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament), at a meeting, literally on the 2nd day after the start of a full-scale war. The Ukrainian ambassador was in Sweden, and he told us about the situation in Ukraine. And I remember the moment when I lowered my eyes, looked at my expensive suit, and thought: “What am I doing here? I’m a military woman!” and literally a week later, I was already in Ukraine,” Nordengrip said in an interview with Radio Svoboda.
It took several months for her to pass all examinations and selection for the ranks of the Ukrainian army. Currently, the ex-MP already works as an instructor for recruits in the 47th separate mechanized brigade, “Magura.”
On her Instagram page, the defender of Ukraine calls on everyone to help the country. “Think if there is something even small you can do for Ukraine and please help them,” Nordengrip wrote.
