French parliament designates Russia’s PMC Wagner a terrorist group

On May 9, 2023, France’s National Assembly — the lower house of the French Parliament — adopted a resolution which designates Russia’s Wagner mercenary group as a terrorist entity, Politico reports. All lawmakers present in parliament — 331 in total — supported the resolution. The document calls on the European Union to register Wagner on the EU list of terrorist groups.
