G7 condemned the pseudo-referendums on Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories and promised new sanctions against Russia

The G7 countries condemned the pseudo-referendums on temporarily Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.

The relevant statement was made by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in her capacity as Chair of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

“Any referendum held under conditions of Russian military presence, intimidation, and forced deportation cannot be free or fair,” the statement reads.

The G7 countries promised to pursue further sanctions and are committed to sustained economic and political pressure on Russia.
