G7 countries agreed on the importance of continuing to support Ukraine

Ukraine was one of the key subjects of discussion among the G7 leaders in Hiroshima, Japan, where an agreement was reached to continue assisting Ukraine indefinitely. According to Ukrinform, Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz stated this following the results of the first day of the G7 leaders meeting on May 20, 2023.

“We have once again assured Ukraine that we will provide the necessary support for as long as it is required, including humanitarian, financial, and military assistance.” This is a broad consensus reached by the G7 countries on this issue. It is particularly significant since the agreement conveys the message that a just peace is possible if only Russia recognizes the need to end the war and withdraw its soldiers,” Scholz told reporters.
