G7 countries will make Russia pay for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine
The leaders of the G7 countries stated their desire to make Russia accountable for the atrocities perpetrated in Ukraine and to compel the aggressor country to pay for the reconstruction of everything damaged by the war. These points are indicated in the G7 statement on Ukraine, the text of which is available on the European Council’s website.
“There must be no impunity for war crimes and other atrocities, such as Russia’s attacks against civilians and critical civil infrastructure. We acknowledge the efforts made at the United for Justice international conference organized by the Government of Ukraine, and recall the Bucha Declaration that calls for accountability for the most serious crimes under international law committed on the territory of Ukraine,” as specified in the agreement.
