German arms firm Rheinmetall to open maintenance hub for Ukraine weapons

German arms maker Rheinmetall announced it would open a maintenance hub for Ukraine weapons. It will be opened in the north of Romania, close to the border with Ukraine and Hungary, and it is planned to be operational by the end of April. “The service hub should play a central role in maintaining the operational readiness of western combat systems in use in Ukraine and ensuring the availability of logistical support,” stated Rheinmetall.
