Germany to send to Ukraine additional howitzers and MARS II multiple launch rocket systems

Germany will provide Ukraine with two additional MARS II multiple-launch rocket systems and four howitzers, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced during a press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on October 25, 2022.

Steinmeier also said he was “very happy” to be in the country and praised the “courage, fortitude, and unyieldingness” of the Ukrainian people. He reiterated Germany’s support for Ukraine, adding that Berlin would keep supporting the country.

“Today, I was able to look at this war through the eyes of Ukraine for a day. I am full of sincere admiration for the courage, tenacity, and will for freedom of the Ukrainians,” Steinmeier said.
