“Ghost of Kyiv” graffiti appeared in Vienna for the Day of the Air Force of Ukraine

The “Ghost of Kyiv” graffiti appeared in the central part of Vienna, dedicated to military pilots defending Ukrainian skies from the Russian aggressor.

The mural for the Day of the Air Force of Ukraine was created in cooperation with Ukrinform and the Belarusian artist Mikhas Smolsky. The graffiti, made in blue and yellow colors, was painted on the wall of the Danube Canal embankment — a place popular among young people — near the Schottenring metro station.

The heroism of the military pilots in the first weeks of Russia’s full-scale invasion became the source of the folk legend about the “Ghost of Kyiv” — an air ace-superhero who appears unexpectedly and successfully attacks the planes of the Russian invaders.
