Guard dog didn’t stop protecting a bombed-out pharmacy in Kharkiv region when rescuers came to save him from under the rubble

On Dec. 16, 2022, emergency workers arrived at the site of the Russian shelling in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, and heard barking from a bombed-out pharmacy.

Searching through the rubble, they found the dog — but he didn’t let them near because he kept on protecting the building, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.

Only after the dog’s owner arrived was he calm enough to allow rescuers to take care of.
