Head of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been released

The head of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP in Ukraine has been released, according to International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi.

“I welcome the release of Ihor Murashov, Director General of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. I have received confirmation that Mr. Murashov has returned to his family safely,” Grossi wrote.

Murashov was detained on Friday, September 30, 2022, by a Russian patrol as he traveled from the Zaporizhzhia plant to the town of Enerhodar.
