Heorhii Narbut. A unique visionary and a significant contributor to Ukrainian art history
Despite having only lived for 34 years, Heorhii Narbut managed to make a significant contribution to the evolution of Ukrainian art. His signature style conveyed great depth through its frequent combination of watercolor and silhouette, ink and pencil, font composition and heraldic signs, color prints and book illustrations, symbolic pictures and animated situations. Most notably, Narbut designed the Ukrainian official coat of arms and seal, as well as banknotes and postage stamps. His legacy consists of bookplates and architectural vistas with incredible imagery and brightness. He became one of the founders and rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts.
