Human rights activist and journalist Maksym Butkevych, who is in Russian captivity now, received the Czech award ‘Stories of Injustice’ from the ‘People in Need’ organization.

“We decided to award the prize to Maksym Butkevych, a well-known human rights activist and prisoner of war in Ukraine, who is currently imprisoned by Russia. With the ‘Stories of Injustice’ Award, we want to express our support to all brave Ukrainians who are defending their homeland,” stated Šimon Pánek, director of the Czech non-profit organization ‘People in Need.’
