“I can’t fight the Russians but I can show solidarity by performing my comedy” Irish comedian Dave McSavage arrived in Ukraine

Comedian David McSavage kicked off a tour of Ukraine on May 6, 2022, with all proceeds going to the people who need it most in the towns he performs in.

The comedian has also set up a GoFundMe page to support the “Special Comedy Operation” in the war-torn country.

He will perform in nine cities across Ukraine. “The scariest thing is I’ve been told not to pick up any souvenirs off the ground because they have been more than likely booby-trapped by the Russians and they could blow me sky high.”

Dave told The Irish Sun: “I don’t want to even think about how dangerous it is — I’m just going, but I want to do it. I can’t fight the Russians but I can show solidarity by performing my comedy.”
