International Criminal Court issues arrest warrant for Russian President Putin

The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova.
The ICC alleges Putin is responsible for war crimes, including the unlawful deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia.
The court’s pre-trial judges assessed there were “reasonable grounds to believe that each suspect bears responsibility for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population and that of unlawful transfer of population from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation, in prejudice of Ukrainian children.”
