It is necessary to invite Ukraine to join NATO as a member state at a summit in Vilnius

The Lithuanian Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution that states “it is necessary to invite” Ukraine “to join NATO as a member state” at the NATO summit in Vilnius, “to sign accession protocols and launch the ratification process once conditions allow”, LRT reports.
According to the document, this would be a strategic decision by NATO in pursuit of peace in Ukraine and Europe.
“We are against gray security zones, we want to prove wrong the thesis that Russia has the right to veto Ukraine’s membership. We think that Ukraine will contribute to our security, and will make NATO stronger,” Žygimantas Pavilionis, chairman of the Lithuanian Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, said.
