Joe Biden extends the sanctions against Russia for an additional year

The sanctions against Russia, which were imposed in April 2021 as a result of the Russian government’s negative external activities and expanded in March 2022 as a result of Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, have been extended for another year by an executive order signed by US President Joe Biden. The White House press office released this information.
In accordance with the decree and US law, sanctions will be lifted if the president does not inform him or her of their prolongation within 90 days of the day on which they are announced annually.
