Joe Biden requested $33 billion for emergency aid for Ukraine:  “The cost of this fight is not cheap, but caving to aggression is going to be more costly if we allow it to happen”

President Biden on April 28, 2022, asked Congress for $33 billion in additional emergency aid for Ukraine, requesting money for defense, economic and humanitarian assistance as the country battles a Russian invasion.

The request, which is more than double the size of the $13.6 billion package approved by lawmakers and signed by Mr. Biden last month, highlights how the United States and its allies are preparing for a protracted conflict in Ukraine and bracing for grave global economic and political consequences.
