Kalush Orchestra sold their double bass to collect money to restore the Museum of Hryhorii Skovoroda, ruined by Russians

Eurovision winner Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra donated more than $8,000 (300,000 hryvnias) to restore the National Literary and Memorial Museum of Hryhorii Skovoroda in Kharkiv region, destroyed by Russians in May 2022.

The band raised money by selling their double bass on tour in the US and Canada, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine reported.

“At one of our concerts in Washington, we had the idea to hold an additional charity auction. We managed to sell a brand new double bass which our Sashko Kondratyuk usually plays, and get a considerable amount,” the leader of the band, Oleh Psyuk, said.
