Kyiv survived an “exceptionally intense” Russian attack overnight
Russia launched an exceptionally intense air attack on Kyiv on the night of May 16, 2023, using drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, Kyiv City Military Administration reports.
It was the eighth attack on Kyiv since the beginning of May. “It was exceptional in its density — the maximum number of attack missiles in the shortest period,” Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv City Military Administration, said. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported falling debris from Russian strikes set several cars on fire and damaged buildings in different districts of the capital. Three people were injured.
Debris also fell on the territory of the zoo, the animals were not injured.
