Latvia organizes psychological support course for Ukrainian border guards

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Latvia plans to hold a psychological support course for officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in Jurmala.

For the psychological support of Ukrainian border guards in Latvia, the base of the Center for Health and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country will be used, which is intended to help Latvian officials. It is planned that the Ukrainian border guards will be provided with psychological support, physical education classes, and three meals a day. The Latvian Interior Ministry is requesting an additional 59 thousand euros for this purpose. During the psychological support course, Ukrainian officers will participate in individual psychological and sports activities in groups and individually. In total, it is planned to involve up to 100 SBGS officers in the program.

The first group of up to 40 people is expected to arrive in Jurmala in June 2023, and the Latvian side will provide transportation to take Ukrainians from the Ukrainian-Polish border and back.
