Latvian government to allocate €4 million for Ukrainians to take Latvian language classes

The Latvian government has planned to invest more than €4 million in a program to teach Latvian to Ukrainian residents of the republic. According to Ukrinform, this information was provided by the Latvian Ministry of Culture. “The purpose of the program is to promote the use of the Latvian language among Ukrainian citizens by providing free lessons, starting with the A1 level and according to the initial level of language proficiency, to adult Ukrainians, including minors with secondary education, in all regions of Latvia and regardless of the time they spent in the country,“ the ministry’s statement reads.
