Leaders of France, Germany, Italy, and Romania arrived in Kyiv

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi arrived in Kyiv on Thursday, June 16, 2022, for the first time since Russia’s war in Ukraine had started.
The three leaders took a night train to Kyiv. They crossed into Ukraine from the Polish border, the Italian daily reported, although, their precise travel plans are unknown since Paris, Berlin, and Rome did not give official details on the highly anticipated trip. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis joined the three leaders in Kyiv, taking another route on Thursday morning.
“In Kyiv today with my European colleagues German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macro,n and Italian PM Mario Draghi to show our strong support and full solidarity with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people. This illegal Russian aggression must stop!” Iohannis said on Twitter on June 16, 2022.
