Lithuania designates Russia’s PMC Wagner as terrorist organization

On Mar. 14, 2023, Lithuania’s Seimas voted unanimously to designate Russia’s Wagner mercenary group “a terrorist organization.”
“Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Wagner’s mercenaries have been committing systematic, serious crimes of aggression — killing and torturing civilians in Ukraine, bombing homes and other civilian objects — that amount to terrorism,” says the document. The resolution states that Wagner members and mercenaries pose a threat to the state and public security and also calls on other countries to follow Lithuania’s suit.
