Lithuanian parliament unanimously recognized the war in Ukraine as genocide, Russia as a terrorist state

Lithuanian Seimas unanimously passed a resolution by which the Lithuanian Parliament recognized the war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

“Since the tsar’s reign, it has been essentially an autocratic state, and Putin continues Stalin’s work. The genocide began then. And Putin’s Russia is simply a reincarnation of Soviet Stalinist Russia — the Soviet Union,” said Paulius Saudargas, one of the initiators of the resolution.

In the adopted document, the Seimas called on the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, foreign parliaments, and governments to recognize and prosecute the genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Russian Federation.
