Lithuanians raised €5 million in 3.5 days to buy Bayraktar for Ukrainian soldiers
Lithuanians raised €5 million in 3.5 days to purchase Bayraktar drones for Ukrainian soldiers, as reported on the Facebook page of the news channel Laisves TV.
“We did it! This is probably the first time that citizens of one country can buy and donate such heavy weapons to another country. 5 million euros are already in Bayraktar’s account. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this grand purchase! Each of your euros is a contribution to ending the war and a helping hand to Ukraine,” the statement said.
The fundraiser announced on May 25, 2022, was initiated by Lithuanian journalist Andrus Tapinas.
