Maksym Medynskyi, a journalist from Bolhrad (Odesa Region), was killed on the front line while defending Ukraine in the Armed Forces. Maksym Medynskyi went to the front in 2014 and joined the Ukrainian army without hesitation again in 2022.
In an interview in February 2022, Medynskyi said that he grew up in a military family in Bolhrad. His father is a war journalist and his mother, a teacher, also served in the army. From an early age, Maksym wanted to be a paratrooper. “I was never afraid of losing my life, I was only afraid of losing it in some stupid way. So there was no question about whether to go to war or not. There is war in my country, and I have to defend it,” Medynskyi said.
Maksym graduated from the Institute of Journalism of Kyiv National University, worked in a few media, and cooperated with several government structures, including ministries.
