Manifesta 2028 is planned to take place in Kyiv

The Manifesta is scheduled to take place in Kyiv in 2028. Hedwig Fien, the founder of the European Biennale, stated this during a press conference at the opening of Manifesta 14 in Pristina. She is convinced that “this will help restore and strengthen Ukraine’s cultural ecosystem and infrastructure within six years.”
Fien explained that the idea came to her shortly after the full-fledged war had started. The concept evoked “great enthusiasm by both the Ukrainian and European sides,” and Ukraine has already sent a letter indicating its intention to hold the event in Kyiv. The Manifesta Foundation, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Institute of Culture, will most likely organize the Biennale in 2028.
