Mariupol defender Mykhailo Dianov donates $52,000 for Bakhmut defender’s prostheses
Ukrainian defender of Mariupol Mykhailo Dianov has donated $52,000 of the total amount of money initially raised for him following his return from Russian captivity to a defender of Bakhmut Roman Hryhorian to help pay for his bionic prostheses.
Hryhorian was fighting in the east of Ukraine before being wounded by cluster munition in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, in July 2022. As result, Hryhorian lost his right arm and right leg.
“Thanks to your help, these days Roman is getting high-quality bionic prostheses in Minneapolis, USA,” Dianov said.
Dianov was severely wounded during the battle of Azovstal where he was captured and subsequently was held in Russian captivity for four months. He returned to Ukraine at the end of September during a prisoner exchange. Following his captivity, Dianov was in need of significant medical attention.
