Mariupol is the heart of this war today. It’s beating. We’re fighting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said in an interview with AP that he considers Mariupol to be the heart of the Ukrainian-Russian war, which resistance strengthens the position of Ukraine. “Mariupol is the heart of this war today. It’s beating. We’re fighting. We’re strong. And if it stops beating we will be in a weaker position. Defenders of the city are people who are distracting a big part of the enemy forces.”
He stressed that the stronger is Ukraine’s position in Mariupol, the stronger is Ukraine’s position in the east, and the Ukrainian side will have advantages “in the dialogue with the Russian Federation.”
