Mass grave of more than 440 bodies found in Izium, liberated from Russian invaders
A mass burial site of more than 440 bodies was found in the eastern city of Izium that had been recaptured from Russian forces, Kharkiv regional police reported.
Serhii Bolvinov, the Chief police investigator for the Kharkiv region, told Sky News that all the bodies had been individually buried at the makeshift site. According to him, forensic investigations would be carried out on everybody.
In this regard, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for Russia to be held responsible.
“We want the world to know what is really happening and what the Russian occupation has led to. Bucha, Mariupol, now, unfortunately, Izium… Russia leaves death everywhere. And it must be held accountable for that. The world must hold Russia to real account for this war. We will do everything for this,” said Zelenskyy.
