Ministry of Culture and Infomation Policy of Ukraine recorded 540 damages to cultural infrastructure objects as of October 6, 2022

Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture and Infomation Policy has confirmed 540 damaged pieces of cultural infrastructure as of October 6, 2022. Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Kateryna Chuyeva commented on this during the briefing “Heritage and War: Experience and Conclusions of 225 Days” at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
As of October 6, 2022, the ministry had confirmed damage to 161 pieces of cultural assets, 23 monuments of national significance, 129 monuments of local significance, 143 objects of priceless historical structures, and 9 newly discovered artifacts, she said.
Chuyeva underlined that, in total, 540 cases of cultural infrastructure destruction, including historical landmarks, institutions, and religious structures, were documented.
