Ministry of Culture and Infomation Policy of Ukraine stated on the EBU decision on refusal to host Eurovision-2023 in Ukraine
Ukraine does not agree with the nature of the decision made by the European Broadcasting Union when we were confronted with the fact without discussing the possibility of other options. Ukraine believes that it has all grounds for holding further negotiations and finding a joint solution that will meet the requirements of all parties. It is noted in a joint statement of the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UA: PBC Mykola Chernotytskyi, and the winners of the Eurovision Song Contests 2004, 2016, and 2022 — Ruslana Lyzhychko, Jamala and Oleh Psiuk (Kalush band).
Ukraine has honestly won Eurovision-2022 and so far fulfilled all the conditions within the specified time for the approval process of its hosting in Ukraine — provided answers and guarantees on safety standards and possible venues for the competition.”
