More than 5,000 women defend Ukraine on the front lines

More than 50,000 women serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 5,000 of which are currently on the front lines, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar, told at the Second International Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, held in Kyiv on July 23, 2022.

“In addition to 38,000 military servicewomen, we also have civilian women employed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, in total, more than 50,000 women are part of the Armed Forces. Today, more than 5,000 women are on the front lines,” Maliar said.
