More than $80,000 were raised through charity auctions from the sale of Ukrainian athletes medals to support army and refugees

The gold medal of the 2020 Paralympic Games by rower Serhii Yemelianov was sold at the WhiteBIT cryptocurrency exchange for $30,000. The Paralympian from Poltava region plans to use the proceeds to buy military equipment for the Ukrainian army.

For the bronze medal of karate player Stanislav Horuna, won at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, $20,500 were offered. It is symbolic that its buyer was a resident of Japan, so the Olympic medal returns to the hosts. The money will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The gold medal of the U-20 World Championship of the Ukrainian forward of the second German division club “Hansa” (Rostock) Danylo Sikan was sold in a series of charity auctions World Sports For Ukraine for $32,000. The money will go to help Ukrainian refugees in Rostock.
