“My message to the people of Ukraine is: You can count on Germany!”

On October 25, 2022, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Kyiv for his first trip to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale aggression started.
“We will continue to support Ukraine, economically, politically, and also militarily,” stated Steinmeier after the arrival.
As part of the trip to Ukraine, the German President visited the city of Koriukivka in Chernihiv region. He was forced to hold talks with Ukrainian officials inside an air-raid shelter.
