New Zealand extends training of Ukrainian soldiers in the UK

New Zealand has announced an increase in its support for Ukraine, The Guardian reported. The country’s government will extend the deployment of 95 defense personnel working to train Ukrainian troops near London by a year to June 30, 2024.

New Zealand also will give just over NZ$3 million to various initiatives supporting Ukraine, including Ukraine Humanitarian Fund, the UNHCR, and the international criminal court’s Office of the Prosecutor and Trust Fund for Victims. “Unfortunately the conflict appears set to continue for some time. We and like-minded partners will not back off and allow Russia to impose their might on the innocent people of Ukraine,” said Prime Minister of New Zealand Chris Hipkins.
