Norway to give Ukraine $205 million for gas supplies

Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre said the country aimed to spend 2 billion kroner ($205 million) this year to ensure that Ukrainians can buy gas for the winter. The support will be distributed through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

“The war means that Ukraine has an urgent need for outside support. Ukraine has asked Norway to take a leadership role in securing access to energy. Now we are following up and propose to spend NOK 2 billion so that the Ukrainians can buy gas in autumn and winter,” says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
Today the Prime Minister of Norway was at the Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) in Stavanger, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also participated digitally.
