Nothing should be negotiated about Ukraine without Ukraine

National Security Council Сoordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, stated that only Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has the right to determine whether he is ready to negotiate with the Russian Federation. “We’ve said this from the very beginning — that President Zelenskyy can determine if and when he’s ready to negotiate and in what context and over what,” said Kirby at a press conference.
“We believe that nothing should be negotiated about Ukraine without Ukraine. Nothing should be done or said or moved on without President Zelenskyy’s full approval. That’s where we are,” he added.
