“Now is not the time for neutrality” Richard Branson urged to send military aid to Ukraine, and abandon Russia’s energy

Billionaire and founder of the Virgin Group Richard Branson argued that business leaders should speak out and help to stop funding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in an interview with Euronews. He called for increased military aid to Ukraine, as well as the abandonment of Russian oil, gas, and coal.

“We believe that now is not the time for neutrality, that the Russian invasion is unprovoked and unacceptable. It is necessary for the governments to urgently increase military aid, we need to transfer the weapons Ukraine is asking for. And we need countries to stop sending money to Russia for oil, gas and coal,” he said.

When the war in Ukraine eventually ends, Branson says he is “absolutely certain that business leaders throughout the world will want to help Ukraine get back on its feet.”
