Oleksandr Makhov, journalist and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, died in the Russian shelling

“For many years, Oleksandr had worked for ‘Ukraine’ and ‘Ukraine 24’ channels, covering the events on the front lines. Oleksandr served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At one point in his career, Makhov was the only journalist on board the plane that carried out the evacuation from the coronavirus-ridden Wuhan. He called a trip to Antarctica in between work at the frontline ‘a brief vacation.’ The war takes away the best… Eternal memory! Condolences to family and friends!” the statement of Ukraine 24 TV channel says.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has assured that Russia will answer for the death of journalist and soldier Oleksandr Makhov.
“My sincere condolences to his relatives and friends. Let his son Vladyslav know that Russia will answer for this death. We will definitely earn a victory for Ukraine. I am sure it was Oleksandr’s dream, and we shall make it come true,” Zelenskyy said.
