One of the largest Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy system was on September 11, 2022

Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were left without electricity on the evening of September 11, 2022, because of one of Russia’s most massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko reported on Facebook.
The Minister said that on Sunday evening, Russians shelled the Zmiivska power plant and three high-voltage substations. 40 substations of different voltages were de-energized, and two 750 kV and five 330 kV overhead power lines were disconnected. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians in Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Donetsk regions were left without electricity. At the same time, Galushchenko noted that the speed of restoration is inspiring.
