Over 1.3 million people around the world started studying Ukrainian on Duolingo in 2022
Over 1.3 million people worldwide began studying Ukrainian in solidarity after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, language-learning tool Duolingo reports.
As the company reports, interest in learning Ukrainian soared in the weeks after the full-scale war began, peaking in late March and remaining steady for the rest of 2022.
Countries with the highest growth in people studying Ukrainian in 2022 are Ireland, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, and Czechia.
In the six months following the invasion, people studying Ukrainian grew 1651% year-over-year in Germany, 1615% in Poland, and 1515% in the Czech Republic.
