Part of the funds from the Russian assets seized in the West should be transferred to the Reconstruction Fund of Ukraine

According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the Ukrainian government wants to receive part of the funds from the Russian assets that have already been seized in the West to finance the Reconstruction Fund of Ukraine.

“We are grateful to our partners who are actively continuing to freeze the accounts and assets of Russia and oligarchic groups close to the Kremlin,” he said.

It is not clear yet how Western countries could transfer these funds to Ukraine. “There is simply no single procedure in the world to do this, so we work with each country separately. But we want to receive part of these funds in the next six months to begin quickly rebuild our country,” stressed Shmyhal.
